SESAME STREET REMIX: WHIP MY HAIR VIDEO

This is so cute! Last week Sesame Street released a video with a little black muppet girl singing a song called 'I Love My Hair', which was giving the message that little girls should love their hair no matter what the texture. Well, of course someone had to create a mashup of that video and Willow Smith's 'Whip My Hair'....It is so cute! Check it out:

This video is super cute, fun, and original. I am definitely a Willow fan!

Can I Be Her at 40?

OMG!
It should be illegal to be THIS beautiful!

Chicks Who Rock Kicks

These are an amazing collaboration between Keds and Alice&Olivia. I love everything A&O does with their amazing clothing, so these sneaks fall nothing short of spectacular and they are super comfy!

I love Supra. They make really cool, funky kicks. They are definitely for the girl who isn't afraid to stand out and be noticed shoes first!
Of course I had to feature the exclusive Vashtie Kola Jordan's in the violet colorway. They are super cute, fun, and retro. Vashtie is the ultimate sneaker chick so she knows exactly what a woman is looking for when buying a new pair of sneakers.
The Nike Dunks, from Flight Club LA, are a great sneaker for women or men. They retail for $375 because of their exclusivity. I love the denim, grey, and gold colorway.
I am definitely a Vans girl, and so of course, these Vans definitely made the list. I featured them in a previous post but had to again because they are so amazing. I cannot wait to add them to my collection. The collaboration between Vans & MadeMe Clothing was on point!
I am also a very dedicated Converse Chuck Taylor fan. These fun, sparkly low top Chucks are so cute for the girl who isn't afraid of a little glitter and shine!
These Chanel sneakers have been on my Wishlist for over a year. I borrowed this pic from Daria at Fashionably Bitten because she took it at my old job, Saks, and that's where I first spotted them. They are so adorable and I love the old school look of them. I will own these shoes by year's end!
This wouldn't be a proper sneaker post if I didn't add a classic pair of Jordan 11's. My son owns the pair above, but in elementary school I owned the original colorway of black/white/red, and when they re-released the same colorway when I was in high school, I was more than ecstatic. I was a Jordan freak during those years. Unfortunately, Jayden's dad stole my 11's, and my 9's in 3 colors, so they are no longer in my possession. Never date a guy that wears the same size as you: either I have big feet or he has small girly feet! LoLz! These are my favorite Jordan's ever because they are very classy looking and extremely comfortable. I wouldn't mind throwing on a pair of these again if they came out with a colorway that was just right for me, meaning, there would have to be some pink involved! LoLz!

Extreme Makeovers

A very personal issue that I have struggled with practically my entire life is weight loss. Of course, it's something that puts a damper in my fashion dreams because I do believe that there were certain opportunities I have not been considered for or overlooked on because of my weight. I have tried yo-yo dieting and that never works. But I recently decided to make a 'lifestyle change' and that has honestly been the best decision I have ever made. In 30 days, I have lost 17 lbs so far. I will not tell my starting weight or current weight until I reach the goal that I am aiming for. For the first time in my life, I see that the goal is achievable. It is a very hard, and slow process, but it is worth it in the end and I cannot wait until I reach the final results. A full blown Saks, Bloomie's, and H&M shopping spree will be in full effect! LoLz!

Anyway, two celebrity inspirations I have are Kelly Osbourne and Jennifer Hudson. These two ladies both went from double digit sizes to single digits. It was all thanks to intense workouts, eating right, and motivation from family and friends.
Kelly Osbourne once weighed 160 lbs at just 5'2'', but has lost 42 lbs, making her a gorgeous size 6 now. She looks absolutely beautiful. I also love how she changed her whole rocker style to a more rocker chic look. Kelly is also a very curvy girl, but with her extra pounds and old style, we could not see it. Now, she looks better than ever and her body is hot!
Jennifer Hudson looks amazing in her new size 6 frame. Jennifer dropped 10 dress sizes with the help of Jenny Craig. Because Jennifer is already a voluptuous woman, her curves are still there, just highlighted even more on her smaller frame. Jennifer is my ultimate inspiration because she loved her body before but improved it for her own happiness, which is the same way I look at weight loss.

I look forward to continuing this new chapter of my life, making a change that will not only make me feel great, but keep me healthy and energetic. In just a month, I feel better, less tired, and ready for the world. A lot of young women are embarrassed talking about their weight, and trust, I was definitely apart of that club, but I have since opened up about it because I know that I am not alone, and I want those in my life to help support and motivate me during this time. Weight loss is very difficult, and sometimes when we don't see results immediately, we get discouraged and give up, but I have learned that even thru the slow process, I am starting to enjoy myself more and look forward to my future...and the clothes I will get to wear soon! The worst part has been that I have such an intense love for fashion, but have been unable to wear most of the things I love because they don't come in plus sizes, or if they do, they wouldn't look good on a heavier body. I dress all of my friends who are smaller in the clothes I desire to wear, and it sometimes sucks because I know that the clothing would look amazing on me, but it's just not made for me. I look forward to going shopping with my friends in the same stores, or on the same floors. Wish me luck on this journey! I will be regularly putting my ventures, struggles, and successes with weight loss on the blog! Toodles!

A Season of Shows

I am a definite music obsessed junkie! I cannot wait for all the amazing artists I will be seeing perform before the year is over!
Florence & The Machine Nov 2nd at Terminal 5
Wiz Khalifa on November 13th at the Best Buy Theater in NYC
Dipset Reunion November 26th at Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom
J.Cole December 5th at Highline Ballroom in NYC
The most exciting of them all! Wild Jam in San Jose, CA Dec. 16th

I was hoping more of my favorite pop and rock acts would be doing shows, but so far I have not been informed of any, so I guess it's going to be a hip hop season! I may hit up Z100's Jingle Ball this year, but we'll see about those overpriced tickets!
